SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

In collaboration with our community partners, Do the Right Thing of Coconut Creek is proud to announce the 2024 Scholarship Program to promote and provide financial assistance to previous recipients of a Do the Right Thing award.

The deadline to submit a nomination will be 5/3/24 at 6pm!

Eligibility Requirements

  • Be a recipient of a Do the Right Thing of Coconut Creek award anytime from K-12th grade.
  • Be a 2022 graduating senior or GED recipient who will be attending technical college, vocational school, community college or a 4-year college/university.
  • Have a minimum cumulative unweighted grade point average of 2.75 (on a 4.0 scale), verifiable on a school transcript.

Selection Criteria

Like the awards, we are looking for students who strive to do good things. The selection committee will assess each student applicant using their entire application. The committee will be looking to select students that positively contribute to their community and exhibit attributes of good character.

Submission Requirements

To be considered for a scholarship the student must meet all the eligibility requirements above and submit a complete application packet that includes:
  • Completed Scholarship Application Form
  • A single-page personal statement/essay, with 500 words or less, typed in 12pt Arial font, that provides an outline of how you are going to make a difference in the world as an adult. Your essay must highlight why you want to go into your selected field of study, your interests, and what your ambitions are.
  • A single-page student resume.
  • A copy of the applicant’s high school transcript.

Submission Instructions

Completed applications must be received by 6:00 PM on Thursday, May 24th, 2023.

Late or incomplete applications will not be forwarded for consideration.

In a typed essay format, on a single page, 500 words or less, in 12pt Arial font, please provide a personal statement outlining how you are going to make a difference in the world as an adult. Your essay must highlight why you want to go into your selected field of study, your interests, and your ambitions. In addition to the essay listed above, you must also include a single page student resume and a copy of your high school transcript. If any items are missing, your application will be considered incomplete and denied.
